| Ghislaine Howard studied Fine Art at the
University of Newcastle upon Tyne. A painter of powerful and expressive
means, she is known for her large scale public commissions and for her intimate
domestic paintings. Her large cycle of paintings, The Stations of the Cross
/ The Captive Figure has been shown to great acclaim at various cathedral
venues. She is currently working on a large commission for Liverpool City
of Culture 2008. With her husband Michael she was part of the team that
produced the film Degas and the Dance, which in 2004 was awarded
the prestigious Peabody Award. Her work is in many public and private
collections including The Royal Collection. |
